ATPase
 
Definition: A protein complex responsible for converting electical potential energy (from a nanoscale batery) into ATP, the molecule used for immediate fuel by virtually all living systems.
ATP synthase is an example of a molecular motor that converts chemical energy from ATP into mechanical motion. Aliases include "The F0F1 Complex" and "ATP synthase."
