Definition: From quantum mechanics, entanglement is a relationship between two systems in which they exist in more than one state simultaneously (by superposition), and the state of one system determines the state of the other.
When the state of one part of an entangled system is measured, information regarding the state of the other can sometimes be deduced without direct interaction. Thus, this phenomena has potential to be exploited for quantum information processing and communication.
